MY STYLE & APPROACH
Of all the words people use to describe me, the one I get the most is thoughtful. I am principled and present in every 1:1 interaction.
I was born and raised in a community with pervasive homophobia, so I recognize that every step forward is a conscious one. And that often means figuring out how to take risks in pursuit of better opportunities.
Whenever you feel lost, I see it as an chance to center your needs—because you know yourself better than you think you do. I’m here to inquire and guide.
WHAT I BRING:
I understand how hiring works. I’m a former recruiting professional who's reviewed resumes, worked with candidates, and implemented hiring practices at different companies.
I know how to vet employers and identify red flags. I’m a DEI practitioner who’s seen the inner workings of many workplaces.
I offer pragmatic advice to LGBTQ+ people in different situations. I’ve lived in both safe and unsafe communities and know they require different approaches.
I speak from lived experience, not just theory. My career is a nonlinear arc filled with ups, downs, and a couple major pivots.

Alex was a voice of affirmation and encouragement during a particularly low point in my job search. When we spoke, I felt like they genuinely understood the unique challenges I faced as a queer mid-career millennial, and the structural issues at play. Alex gave me helpful suggestions for actions I could take while acknowledging the bigger picture of systemic factors outside of my control.
I had an incredibly positive experience collaborating with Alex on my resume and cover letter for a recent job application. Right from our initial discussion, I could sense that Alex really understood my values and the underlying themes that connect my professional journey and that they would be able to help tell my story in a way that was authentic and resonant.
Alex offered insightful and practical suggestions to enhance both the substance and structure of my documents so that I was able to submit my application with confidence and a strong presentation of my qualifications.
Resume Review, Cover Letter Review
Alex was so kind and encouraging, and really helped me to critically evaluate how best to translate my diverse professional background into an effective story. With the help of Alex, my confidence was boosted massively for my upcoming interviews. Thanks for your help Alex!
My consult with Alex was affirming and grounding. Alex is an amazing listener, and sets up a space that invites openness and authenticity. The strategies that were offered to me by Alex were tailored to my needs, and have been very helpful to me on my career journey.
My career consult with Alex helped find a place to start in the job search. They provided a helpful outside perspective and gave me tips on which industries to look for positions in.
Speaking with Alex helped me to reaffirm my strengths, reminded me that I have substantial experience that I'm undervaluing, and gave me confidence in this crazy market (6+month job search). I'm now building my own brand, finding my voice and having success with independent consulting clients. 10 stars recommend!!
