Fractional refers to time allocation. Instead of going from 0 to 1 headcount, you bring on someone to work a fraction of a full-time commitment. This can be an arrangement like 20% (1 day a week) or 50% (20 hours a week).


Business Partner draws from the HR Business Partner model, a consultative role that helps different functions align their People practices with business goals.


Think part-time, but more strategic and responsive to business needs.
